in simple terms its a forum where we discuss the future of the project were YOU can influence what articles are made and what topics are researched
Why not use a discord server?
THERE IS ONE!! but we will use the forum more beacuse we own and host it and it doesnt have any sort of censorship, unlike discord. but yes the collaberative part of nautical does run also of a discord server.
You telling me I can write news?
YESS!! the "community" creates and writes topics and we combine it all into one beautifully written article that points back to the forum threadwhy not allow the community to write AND publish the news?
for one reason, if we do the website will get blogged up with sub par and not well researched articles and I think it would be more interesting seeing the community come together to write instead of everyone doing there own thing.If your publishing the articles could you hide things even worse rewrite things :0 ?
Everything is open-source you can see what has been edited and what we didnt include. We dont pick and chose what info gets shared ALL WILL BE SHARED, cause multiple points of view mattersWhy not use a wiki?
we have tried that with wikimedia but it didnt work well, it wasnt intuative and there was no communicatation between people... it was just deadbut we will want to include something like a wiki soon!! just with more communication
